Frustrating start thus far. Right now I'm typing this on notepad instead of online because apparantly, there is only one outlet for laptops per room. Since Dolan is currently firing the million, I'm left stuck shit out of luck.
We left Tallahassee about 6pm est yesterday, during the stomping of the Irish. Definately not a good start to the trip. Upon arrival at the Beau Rivage, the waiting list for 1-2 no limit was about 30 deep. We called up the IP, and with a waiting list of four, we headed over there.
I was sat at a table with dolan, while the third in our party, Jonny, played on another table. We definately got a loose loose table. The player in the 9 seat, who was to my immediate left, was an idiot donkey who was fucking wasted. I licked my chops at double up opportunities. Unfortunately, I was nearly completely card dead. This led to timid poorer play by me, and was really unpleased with my play, when the following hand came up.
Im UTG +2, and had recently moved to the left to have position on the idiot donkey. UTG folds, idiot donkey raises to 20. I look down at two red Kings. I decide to jam in my remaining 97, 100% sure that I would get a call. To my surprise, a looser play two to my left flats, as does the idiot donkey. The flop came out QJJ. Idiot donkey checks, the third player bets 100, and idiot donkey check raises to 300 and gets a fold. He flips J10o, and I brick out and head to the bar. That hurt enough - however there was more insult to injury. Apparantly, Dolan folded J7 that hand, and on top of that, the third player in the hand held 1010. So in order for me not to triple up that hand, I simply had to dodge the one (1) remaining 10 in the deck, or both the remaining jacks. Ugh.
We left the IP around 2am and went looking for a hotel room. Unfortunately, Biloxi is fucking packed, and we ended up checking at least 10 hotels, all of which were booked. We ended up having to travel back all the way back to fucking ALABAMA, and got a room about an hour back from Biloxi.
We woke up today around 10 and decided to hike up to biloxi and play in the 70 dollar MTT at the IP. 3k starting chips, 20 minute levels. I really liked the way I played this tourney. I was very active and making moves both with hands and without. I won a monster pot the last hand before the 2nd break, with my 1010 holding against a10 and 89. I was our table chip leader with 2 tables left, and 10 seats paying. However, it was not meant to be. Somehow, my 46o didnt suck out against AQ all in pre. The board came K3333, and almost grabbed me a chop. I was down to about 17k in chips when the following hand came up.
13 left in the tournament and 10 pay. The 3 seat is an awful player, limping like 1/15 of his stack but staying alive by continuously firing bets that received no calls. I had been rather tight after the 46o hand, as tight was generally the feel of the table. 7 handed, I look down at k10o, and open up for 2600 at the 500/1k/200ante. I had about 17k behind to start the hand. The guy previously described flat called from the small blind, as he had flatted a few of my prior raises. The flop came 823 rainbow, and he fired out a 3k bet. I really felt like he was just trying to take the pot away, and pushed all in. He thought and called with QQ. 10 on turn, bricked the river, and with 1100 chips left, I busted the next hand, although I had the opportunity to septuple up.
Although I misread the hand, I am thoroughly happy with the way I played both that hand, as well as the tournament. I definately was table captain and people were both respecting and fearing me. As for that crucial hand, I wouldn't have changed a thing. He was definately a weak player, and coupled with the tight players trying to squeek into the money, on the board as well as the reads I had, I would likely make the same play 100 times out of 100. The only thing I didn't like was my passiveness at points, where I felt if the same table was being played online, I would have certainly been playing more aggressive.
Pretty cool little thing though...were on the 12th floor right now at the VERY end of the hallway. We have two gigantic windows that gives an amazing view to a crappier city of Biloxi. Recently, weve had a grasshopper come join us, chilling on our window of our high story room. I knocked him off before hitting the glass, but he must have liked the view and came back. =)
Anyhow, Im done with the blog. Im flat out of cash on hand but have a sizeable amount online. The goal is to turn it from electronic funds to cash in hand. GOOD LUCK ME!
